I always wanted to compare the performance of my 3, 4 and 5 inch racing copters. Today there was the opportunity. They weigh around 130g, 260g, respectively 470g. I have to say that one of the motors of the 4" racer was damaged during a crash earlier this week. This motor becomes really hot (and the others don't). This cost a lot of performance. Actually the speed of the 4" is almost identical to the 5".
The track was almost a "full throttle only" track, so I am really surprised that the difference is pretty small.
