PARCHEESIS Wildest Rules ExplainedPlay-In Games2025-07-14 | Parcheesi, also known as the Royal Game of India, is more than just a colorful race-to-home board game—it’s a cutthroat strategy contest where one misstep can send your camel packing. In this video, I take you through every rule you need to know to master Parcheesi, including how to set up the board, how to navigate the lotus spaces, and the truth behind those 20-space bonk bonuses. Whether you’re new to the game or just need a refresher, you’re covered.
We’ll go step-by-step through gameplay, including the powerful—and sometimes brutal—bonk mechanic, the elusive 14-point double bonus, and how to create a blockade that brings the game to a screeching halt (in your favor). And yes, I’ll explain the most misunderstood part of Parcheesi: how movement works with doubles, penalties for over-rolling, and why sometimes the best strategy is to not enter a new piece.
If you’ve ever played Ludo or Sorry and thought, “This could use more tension,” Parcheesi delivers. With unique bonus rules, forced movement mechanics, and the infamous lotus safe spaces, Parcheesi is a classic that rewards clever play and a little bit of sabotage. Plus, you’ll finally know how to properly score those bonus moves when you bonk a friend or make it home.
Looking for winning strategies? Stick around for practical tips on setting up smart blockades, managing multiple pieces, and why keeping a pawn just outside your home can rattle opponents. Parcheesi isn’t just a race—it’s a mind game dressed up as a family favorite.

Quarto is like someone gave your childhood game a brain transplant. In this fast-paced strategy game, you win by getting four pieces in a row that share a common characteristic. But here’s the twist—you don’t pick your piece. Your opponent does.
In this video, Chris breaks down how to play Quarto with clarity, humor, and a little humility after losing at his own coffee table. You’ll learn the rules, setup, gameplay, special moves, and even how to steal a win when your opponent misses a Quarto. Whether you’re a casual player, a board game snob, or someone who just likes clean, brainy two-player games—this one’s for you.
Quarto features 16 unique pieces, each with four binary traits: height, color, shape, and top. Players take turns placing a piece selected by their opponent. The first to complete a row (or diagonal) of four matching traits wins—if they remember to call “Quarto” in time. Otherwise, their opponent can swoop in and claim the win.
Fast to learn, endlessly replayable, and surprisingly tense—Quarto is the kind of abstract strategy game you’ll keep coming back to. Want to take it further? Chris shows a few variations including a Tokyo house rule that adds 2x2 squares to the mix.
