Beetlejuice The Musical: Barbara 2.0 but its only the best part of the entire song Miles Cooper 2019-09-23 | The week that I uploaded both Beetlejuice videos they blew up tremendously. a week later when I went to go see the show, one of the producers invited me backstage and I got to meet the cast and the crew, maybe when I have the time I'll do a storytime animation about it. Some of the big-name actors from the show that I got to meet were Alex Brightman, Sophia Anne Caruso, Kerry Butler, and Rob McClure.For those of you who don’t know, Rob McClure recently left Beetlejuice and is now going on to do a musical adaptation of Mrs. Doubtfire which will premiere in Seattle. When I heard the news I knew that I had to do something or say something special because Rob was one of the nicest if not thee nicest guy I got to meet when I went backstage. So, for a good three days, I spent a good chunk of the free time I have now that I’m in my freshman year of college working on this fifteen-second animation as a goodbye gift. Hopefully, Rob gets a chance to see it.
Spongebob Musical: Bikini Bottom Day Animatic (BTS) Miles Cooper 2024-09-10 | I’ve talked about this a little bit on the main video but I’ll do a small recap here. For the longest time, I’ve wanted to make a storyboard animatic to the opening number of the SpongeBob musical as my big love letter to the show and its crew.The process for making it was slow and steady, having technically started all the way back in 2022. There were a lot of twist and turns in its production history. There were even moments I had doubts about its quality.It wasn’t until after I had finished the additional edits and proof-watched the whole Final Cut that I felt both relieved and emotionally moved by what I had done with this song.With that being said, thank you to everyone who watched, liked, and shared “Bikini Bottom Day”. Especially ever since the creator (Stephen Hillenburg) passed away. Ultimately the main reason I wanted to make this video was because like many people SpongeBob was a core part of my childhood and one of the many reasons, I want to pursue a career in animation. There were times where I wanted to start up this project. Like the opening shot and Sandy’s reveal were done over the pandemic. But it wasn’t until @Shnikkles gave me advice when she was working on her “Nerdy Prudes Must Die” animatic, that if you want to make something, just go make it. So, I did. I believe it paid off in the end. This animatic was an absolute blast from beginning to end to work on and a few tears were shed while working on the final shot. The following animation is meant for Transformative Use to build on both copyrighted works in a different manner/purpose from the original and does not infringe upon the original copyright.]This year I made it one of my New Year’s Resolutions to improve on my storyboarding skills and begin building a portfolio. As I was working on a separate project, I put on a few songs that were used to hype up the official cast of Hazbin Hotel as background music, along with the School of Rock Musical cast album. For those who haven’t listened to the SOR cast album, the introduction song is called “Climb to The Top of Mount Rock” (it’s essentially Dewey’s “I Want” song). As I was listening to it with some of the Hazbin Hotel songs still fresh in my head. It made me realize that the last verse of this song fits perfectly with Adam (the leader of Hells Exorcists in the show). After I finished with the previous project, I immediately jumped into making this. This was a ton of fun to storyboard and I’m excited to see if Adam will get a grand villainous rock song similar to this in any future episodes/seasons. I also can’t wait to see what the actual Storyboard Artists and Animators at Spindlehorse Toons and Bento Box have in store for the first season.
Hello Little Girl (Into The Woods) Storyboarded Animatic Miles Cooper 2023-12-10 | I’ve been meaning to get back into animation for a while but with the ever-constant changes that were/still are happening in my life I was constantly putting it off until a few things were settled. During that time, I had been on an “Into the Woods” kick for a while and thought about doing an animatic of the Wolfs song. I really loved the idea of playing around with the Wolfs external and internal dialogues he has within this song. On the surface he might seem whimsical and light-hearted when convincing Red to stray from the path to her grandma's house, but underneath that big friendly smile he has more ravenous and foreboding intentions. Sometimes trying hard to hold himself back from unleashing his inner rage and animalistic nature upon his prey. His character model reflects that being a mixer between Ratigan from "The Great Mouse Detective" and the Death Wolf in "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish". Seeing how I have a little more free time on my hands nowadays, one of the goals I've recently made for myself was to get better at doing storyboard animation. I figured now was the perfect time to make an OneyPlays animatic. Keeping up with some of their most recent “Sonic Heroes” uploads, I wanted to pick the roleplay/improv scenario that made me laugh the hardest from that particular collection. Beetlejuice: The Musical The Whole “Being Dead” Thing (RE-UPLOAD) Miles Cooper 2019-08-20 | (The reason for re-uploading this video is simple: the end-credits were amended by request of the Line Producer of Beetlejuice: The Musical and Warner Bros.) I am happy to do so.When I first heard they were making a musical adaptation of “Beetlejuice” I was a bit skeptical about the idea. After I saw the cast perform this song on “The Today Show” - I was amazed. The whole song felt like a delightful and unique mix of the original movie score with an Oingo Boingo Album. A couple of months later the cast album for “Beetlejuice” was released. When I heard this song on the album, I thought to myself that this would be fun to try and animate. In the words of songwriter Eddie Perfect “It’s gonna go from ukulele, Kermit the Frog folk into flat out death metal and then back again and swing jazz.” For the past three months, I spent much of my summer break working on this animation project. The song has such speed to it that it was nearly impossible to turn it down. It’s always moving; it frequently changes in music styles, and - there’s a ton of fourth wall jokes. How could someone not want to make this into an animated short? I hope that people like this animated video - and hopefully notice all the small details/easter eggs hidden in this short. Technology Gremlins (Lost Adbam Episode) Miles Cooper 2019-06-10 | A few years ago I was working as an intern for a branding company named “The Bam Connection” and one of the many tasks I was given was to create a series of short films that the CEOs decided to call "Adbams". almost all of the shorts I made for them were all posted on the companies Facebook and Instagram accounts, but you can also see them on this channel. For the longest time, I kept pitching my boss this one particular story idea about a gremlin who causes trouble in an office space environment, but every time I would pitch him the idea he’d tell me to go back and work on the idea a little more. I rewrote the short several times but it was the same old story. Eventually, I was able to have the short greenlit and most of my co-workers seemed to like it. during a group meeting, they did a screening of the short and it seemed to be a very successful test screening, It was quick, funny and everyone in the room had at least one thing positive to say about the video. But the CEO never submitted it or even mentioned to me a release date for when it would come out. So I’m posting it to this channel and hopefully, you’ll like it and share it with your friends and family.
Lost Scenes from Famous Super Bowl Commercials Miles Cooper 2019-02-03 | During the beginning of my second year working at my former internship (The BAM Connection) I was mostly collecting photos from stock images websites. At times it got tedious, but I didn't mind. Realized that the Superbowl was coming up soon, I pitch my boss to see if It was possible to do an animated short revolving around the Superbowl. My boss immediately jumped onto the idea and we both started coming up with as many ideas as we could. There were so many ideas that got thrown around while we were brainstorming that It was hard to choose just one, so we decided to create three. Some of the ideas that we came up with that we seemed to like the most is what you'll watch in the video.
Adbam (Final Episode) Office Puppy Miles Cooper 2019-01-13 | This was the last short film I did for my former internship. During my final days there, one of my co-workers was bringing her dog into work. The dog always constantly caused trouble (in a good way) once and a while I would find him nibbling either my backpack or my jeans. I think my boss shortly got the idea after the third or fourth week she brought the dog in and approached me with the idea for this short and asked If I was willing to make this idea he had into a movie. I was immediately ready to start working on it as soon as possible. This short took me a lot longer to make than expected but it wasn't because of the animation process, it was due to all of the glitches with the audio and editing. Miraculously the short turned out well. Hopefully, you'll like it.
Chill Summer: An Unused Summer Project Miles Cooper 2018-12-05 | A while back during the second year of my time at a college transitional school, I was approached by the head of the program one day and he told me about a program called Spectrum Productions. They were interested in working with me and told me they would love it if I submitted them a short animated movie. So, I decided to take on there offer as a summer project and I was able to submit them a short film on July/11/2018. It’s been five months since then and they still haven’t shared or streamed it. AdBam Episode 6 Santa Claus Is Coming To Town! Miles Cooper 2017-12-26 | This was part of a collection of short films I did for a company called the Bam Connection. Bam wanted this idea to be based off of how God awful New York traffic is around the holidays. That's where phrases like "don't block the box" come from. I also took some inspiration from the car rides with my dad when we would go holiday shopping. My dads actually a really good screamer so when it came to recording the dialogue I had to have him provide the voice for Santa. I think he might've blown out the microphone when we were recording every once and awhile so we had to do a couple retakes.
