This wide-angle creation is made from Bill Genaust's colored movie of the 2nd flag raising on Iwo Jima, February 23, 1945.
After 9 / 11 the Iwo Jima flag and World Trade Center firefighter flag raising were compared.
I decided to do paint them both, for the Iwo one I use the Genaust film as best as I could as a guide to get the colors of the island, sky, and uniform right.
