US Gypsum Narrow Gauge Operations 8/29/2022 myamazingworld 2022-12-07 | USG operations from Plaster City, California to the Gypsum mine. I drove by around lunchtime and saw a crew arrive to work (1:00 pm start?). I then followed the empty train all the way to the mine via the dirt road parallel to the rail. Very sandy. 4X4 needed. I wasn't sure how long the load would take so I skipped following the loaded train back. As fate would have it, several weeks from this encounter, heavy rains would damage one of the rail bridges.

Trains at Trenton, NJ station July 2016 myamazingworld 2016-09-14 | Spent a few hours at Trenton station recently. Lots of Amtrak Northeast Regionals and NJ Transit NE Corridor trains. Also a few Acela trains, Amtrak long distance and Keystone corridor trains. Not sure of the train numbers. The opening train is the Crescent with 3 Amtrak business cars on the rear. The other long distance train (further in) is the Silver Star.
Poughkeepsie Trains July 2016 myamazingworld 2016-09-14 | Spent several hours around Poughkeepsie depot and the Walkway Over the Hudson. Saw several Amtrak Empire trains, Metro North, CSX and both Lakeshore Limited's. Of note, this was very shortly after diner cars were removed from the Lakeshore and replaced with dinette cars.

Newark Airport Train Station August 2015 myamazingworld 2015-09-14 | I spent 1 1/2 hrs at Newark airport station between flights. These trains were seen between 5:30 and 7:00 pm on August 25, 2015. Not included are the NJ Transit trains that stopped at this station on the outside tracks (too far away or shooting in the sun). I'd say it's time well spent.

Amtrak Vermonter Reroute Inaugural Essex Jct 2014 myamazingworld 2014-12-31 | On Monday, December 29, 2014, Amtrak rerouted the Vermonter train in Massachusetts to the Connecticut River Line. To honor the event, the Amtrak president rode the train with 3 extra business cars. I captured the train at Essex Jct the evening of 12/29 as train #56 northbound (night arrival) and also 12/30 train #55 southbound at the Winooski River trestle. Theater observation car 10004 "American View" brings up the rear.
