Here one of the strangest Locks I have ever come across!
It has a gigantic protrusion which functions as a multi-layered keyway that has to be traversed by twisting and turning the key in multiple steps!
This odd design does in fact do a nice job at preventing picking attacks as access to the key pins is very restricted!
Odd, but effective!

This interesting locks security feature is a curved keyway to make the insertion of tools difficult (Kind of similar to the HYT Chain key).
However the curve of this lock is not drastic enough to prevent some modified tools from doing to job!
In this video I discuss the locks design as well as show you how to use a modified tool to pick it open!

I was very lucky to be able to acquire some vintage Golden Mean Deadbolt sets completely unused and still in their original packaging!
It is an example of the very earliest design of the lock that would eventually be known as the Maxis Lock.
In this video I demo the lock and discuss the difference between the this early design and the Maxis Lock.
A great piece for collectors!!

I was finally able to find one of these locks!
It is at about 30 years old but is in great shape. It has a patented keyway and key design that is very unique looking. A great find!
Some of you may notice that the Maxis Lock was based on this design as this lock clearly pre-dates the Maxis.

Here is a 1st Generation Buddhist themed Lily Water Padlock. It has the classic squared off swastika keyway and gold color keys.
I got several requests to show this lock again and pick it on camera so I decided to take it off the display cabinet and give it a go.
This is a longer video as the design requires a lot of going back and forth.
A beautiful, rare, and good lock! One of my favorites!
(Please note that in many parts of Asia [including Taiwan, where this lock is from] the swastika is a very respected religious symbol and has nothing to do with any political or war time symbols).

This very unique bike lock was made in Japan and is about 30 years old. It is in fantastic condition works perfectly!
This lock is fully mechanical operates by using a special punch-card key. In the 1980s this thing must have looked very cool and futuristic!
Very happy get my hands on one of these!
