chilicoke | 2.85mm Orbiter + V6, 220mm/s Nozzle cam - Voron mods log @chilicoke | Uploaded February 2021 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
Just a quick update. Finished building another 2.85mm Orbiter and mated it with a regular E3D V6; all parts were once again modified so the nozzle is in the same position as Volcano.
This is more of an extrusion test to see if NEMA14 pancake motor and planetary gears have enough torque to keep up to speed. I simply took my old Bowden V6 profile, reduced the retraction and set feed speed to 200% after the first layer. It passed 220mm/s with flying colors. Will need further testing to find limit to this combo.
Looks like Nozzle Cam's relatively low frame rate plus rolling shutter makes it not really that useful for tuning analysis at 220mm/s.
