On December 17, 1998, Vietnam veteran John Smith South was last seen spending time with friends at a local bar in Mountain City, Tennessee. The next day, he was expected to meet his daughter and granddaughter in his home, to decorate his Christmas tree.
On their arrival, they found his house empty. His car, a white 1985 Subaru Justy, disappeared along with him—and it hasn’t been seen in over two decades.
