It's been a long time coming. We've finally reached the quintuple digits after five years of arranging some bangers in the most 16-Bit Nintendo way possible. For those who don't know, I held a mega man x touhou character tournament (similar to my 4k sub robot master tournament) to decide on which robot master / girl is getting the 10K SUB SPECIAL remix, and this time. Both Kanako Yasaka and Snake Man, the two snakes of both franchises on the bracket, reached the final round, but Snake Man won in the end. After being defeated by Fuse Man in the 4k sub tournament in its final round, the snake boi comes back to take what was rightfully his (and it's goddamn deserved as well!!!) and slay the snake goddess herself (better luck next time, queen).ใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผSnake Man's theme is not only my favorite theme in Mega Man 3, but it's also one of my favorite themes in the entire franchise and a song I HAD to save for this moment. This song quite literally is me. I am SNAKE MAN'S THEME!!!Mega Man 3 I genuinely think it's the worst classic Mega Man game (no, I'm not counting the DOS games). Yeah, it being unfinished is one thing, but the level design is somehow not as good as even 2, the doc robots are a painful slog, Proto Man's fights are a joke, the special weapons suck, and Wily's Castle stages are the most boring fortress stages in the entire franchise. Mega Man Battle Network 3 - Battle is my Forte! ~ Final Transmission ใSNES Remixใ Hooded Edge ๐ง 2024-06-26 | Back at it with the Mega Man Battle Network Peak (3) music after getting back into hyperfixating over Battle Network because I went to two Battle Network panels at Momocon (anime convention in Georgia) and also playing Shanghai.EXE for the first time (I VERY MUCH HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT EVEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW JACK ABOUT TOUHOU!!!).It's not often I arrange non-Battle themes, but I love Final Transmission. It's easily one of my favorite dungeon themes in the Mega Man RPG saga and one of my favorite final dungeon themes in any RPG. I wanted to go all out (for the umpteenth time) on this one and maximize my BN3 rizz with this one!!ใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผMega Man Battle Network 3 is easily my favorite BN game and 2nd favorite Mega Man RPG (behind Star Force 1). I love the story, the gameplay is still really damn solid, even if it's the last of the style games (until you play Shanghai.EXE... seriously, GO PLAY IT!!), and the music is the best of the bunch. I know BN6 got that good-ass instrumentation, but the songs don't hit like this game's music does. This game loves its upbeat, groovy, and even unsettling tunes. I think this game has the best ACDC, Undernet, Internet, and Final Boss themes in the series. I highly recommend this game, even if you haven't played a BN game before. I have nothing but love for this game's soundtrack and flashygoodness's work, especially ever since I first heard this track in New Super Mario World 1: The Twelve Magic Orbs (OG)!!!ใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผTower of Heaven is a pretty fun, short 'n sweet, and brutal platformer, and it's just always a great time whenever I go back through the game, especially when I reach the end (that shit got me tearing up sometimes). And this game's OST is probably one of the greatest pieces of platformer music I've heard from an indie title, like Shovel Knight (for example) is a masterpiece too, but with competition like this, even my shovel boi is shivering a bit. Byakuren Hijiri's the final boss of the year that's getting the ultimate SNES-mix from me. Since the last video, I binged through the entirety of OG Dragon Ball (the best one), Z Kai (pretty alright), and Super (goated with the sauce), and even played a ton of Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure.Is it funny I first heard this song in a Sonic 1 romhack years ago, Mobius Evolution. I mean, hell, it was even used as the theme for Super Sonic / Super Blaze and was even a really solid port of the track. I fell in love with it then, and here I am finally arranging it after so many years.ใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผDragon Ball Z: Budokai is a fighting game that exists, but is also pretty neat. It's got some goated music like this song, but it's also just kinda barebones. I played a bit of Budokai 2 too and it's much better, but honestly, just play Dragon Ball FighterZ. Hell, I've been playing it since 2018, way before I got into Dragon Ball. It's just a really great Arc-Systems fighting game, if you're familiar with any of their works (Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, Double Dragon, and most importantly the River City series)Although, if you want a kick-ass Platformer-Beat 'Em Up / Fighter hybrid with Kid Goku, then you gotta try Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure (for the GBA). It's one of the coolest Dragon Ball games to date with really great gameplay & satisfying brawler combat, a really great OST, and an alright adaptation of OG Dragon Ball's story (minus everything after the King Piccolo saga since it ends after defeating his ass). Hell, they even gave King Piccolo another banger theme as if his (& Junior's) original theme in the show wasn't already amazing enough. It's not often I do this, but as a big fan of Toriyama's art and a simp for Chrono Trigger, I thought it'd be great to dedicate this one to him.I've been a pretty big fan of Toriyama's stuff for just about most of my life. Touhou 16 Tenkuushou ~ HSFS - Glyphs of the Jizo Statue ~ Illusionary White Traveler ใSNES Tome-mixใ Hooded Edge ๐ง 2024-02-25 | Another day, another moment to obsess over Touhou & Castlevania music once more, and it's another epic mashup between Narumi Yatadera's stage theme, Illusionary White Traveler (Touhou 16) and Shanoa's theme, An Empty Tome (Castlevania: Order Of Ecclesia). Been wanting to arrange Narumi's stage theme for a while now but I've also been playing Order Of Ecclesia for the first time recently, so I thought a mashup between these two songs would be sick!!!Also thought up of this mashup 'cuz I was playing Dead Cells (w/ the official Castlevania music pack) and heard An Empty Tome being used in Fractured Shrines (a sky ruins area), and given Narumi's stage takes place in the skies, it'd make a lotta sense to put those two together!!!In other words, it's another excuse to prop up Dead Cells. Got a special "Touhou x Mega Man" SNES-mix 'cuz christ, these two franchises are quite literally the yin & yang of each other, and it's insane.Even more-so that the two songs I mashed up for this special belong to the "fat frosty" characters of both franchises (Frost Man & Letty Whiterock) with the best songs from both games. I'm not kidding, these are my favorite two songs from their respective games, and it's not even a contest for Touhou 7 given how much of its soundtrack I don't like, but both Letty's themes get the exception.ใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผMega Man 8 is quirky AF, but I honestly enjoy it a lot. It's like that dopamine of epicness running down your veins because you're experiencing some of the greatest music you've ever heard.ใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผStreets of Rage... this series changed my life, man! I hold it up as one of my favorite franchises of all-time with some of the coolest games you can play (yes, that includes Streets of Rage 3). It wasn't my first array into beat 'em ups, but it was the thing that'd make me a massive fan of them. Seriously, if platformers didn't exist, I'd be the beat 'em up guy, doing music for nothing but this genre.Streets of Rage 2 is, to probably no one's surprise, one of my favorite games of all-time. I LOVE THIS GAME!!! It's one of the best beat 'em ups and what was, until SoR4, considered to be the highest point in the genre to 99.99% of the general population. This game solved world hunger. This game is truly the ideal solution to end all wars around the world. Just get the world leaders to play this game, and they'll finally accept peace because that's how godly this game is. Some of the greatest action you'll ever get out of a brawler. This game makes even the Devil cry and Bayonetta sweat over how cool it is!!!And the soundtrack, OH LORD THE SOUNDTRACK!!! Some of the greatest tunes in ANY video game period. This game made me love electronic music in the same way DOOM 1 & Eternal made me love metal music (though to a much bigger extent for SoR2). This game's OST made me become one of Yuzo Koshiro's biggest simps. It's one of my biggest inspirations for my remixes, and the fact it took this long to even do an SoR remix is almost criminal. I also really like SoR1, SoR4's, and Mr. X's Nightmare OSTs despite SoR4 being done by a group of other people rather than the king himself. I even really like most of SoR3's soundtrack. There are some genuine bangers in that game's OST, despite it having been controversial ever since its release.If you can't tell from my rambling, I love this genre, this series, and this game. I can't recommend it enough. Even if SoR4 is the better game now (and it KICKS ASS!!!), SoR2 is still god-tier! You have no excuse to not play it too 'cuz it's 2023. You can even play it on your phone... Ys III: Wanderers From Ys - Melancholy in the Temples Ruins ~ Illburns Ruins (SNES Remix) Hooded Edge ๐ง 2023-09-25 | Honey, come quick! My hyperfixation for Ys III's music has returned. Jokes aside, it's been a year since I did another remix from this game, so I thought I'd do another one now. Illburns Ruins is pretty great, especially the Genesis & TurboGrafx-16 CD versions.ใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผYs III is easily a low point for sidescrolling RPGs. Combat feels incredibly loose with no physical in-game feedback to your attacks, and enemies deal way too much damage. Also kinda funny how the Genesis version is the only actually good version of the game 'cuz the SNES version has the mediocre arranged OST and the TurboGrafx-16 CD version is painful to just look at. The only saving grace for this game is its music.It's funny 'cuz if it weren't for this game's music, I wouldn't have gotten into the series.Just go play The Oath in Felgana instead (on an easier difficulty). One of the best final boss themes in this entire franchise for one of the most underrated entries.Also, Sunstar needs a return. Seriously, it's insane how they actually had a unique final boss for this game (and the fight itself was awesome and challenging)ใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผI swear, it's kinda funny the three big platformers on the NES (Mario, Castlevania, and Mega Man) had some of their best (and most underrated) entries on the game boy for some reason (Super Mario Land 2: The 6 Golden Coins, Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge, Mega Man World 4 & 5).Mega Man World 5 is nothing but awesome. A ton of cool and new concepts were introduced here with a new series of banger robots to fight (the Stardroids), a kickass soundtrack to listen to, and hard knuckle but good. MegaMari - Psycho Anxiety ๐ ~ Reisen Udongein Inabas Stage (SNES Remix) Hooded Edge ๐ง 2023-06-24 | It's been over 3 years, and I never realized I haven't done a single MegaMari theme, despite having done a ton of Touhou and Mega Man music in that time.Reisen's pretty awesome and cute (and badass, of course). She's easily one of my favorite Touhou characters from one of the coolest games in the series.ใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผMegaMari is a... mess of a Mega Man fangame. It takes massive inspiration from Mega Man 2 in terms of its level ideas while giving it a spin, and while that probs got a good chunk of people reading this right now rolling their eyes, that's not the issue. It's main issue is that a lot of the game's challenge comes from a lot of bullshit level design involving enemy placements that make no sense in context of the situation, bosses with tough patterns to dodge, and only being able to get half the special weapons in a single run. Look, I know Mega Man 2 wasn't exactly the best game ever, but it wasn't THIS bad.It's a nice attempt from Twilight Frontier as they were probably fans of the series and wanted to fuse that love with another series they're familiar with. Super Mario Bros. 3 - PLUMBING TO THE X-TREME!!! ~ Athletic (SNES Remix) Hooded Edge ๐ง 2023-06-03 | Yeah, I remembered I had a Mario 3 remix I wanted to do for a while. I love doing remixes of classic 2D Mario themes because I can make them sound nothing like your standard Mario affair and go crazy with my style.SMB3's soundtrack is pretty awesome, and I wish the game held up as well as this OST.ใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผใผAs someone who was raised by 2D Mario, I honestly think SMB3 has aged... weirdly. Its overall difficulty progression is all over the place, levels are short to compensate for the vast quantity of levels (notice there's no checkpoints at all), and the last 3 worlds kinda suck. Ice Land drags on for an eternity, Pipe Land is a mess to go through, and Dark Land feels like a difficulty spike because the previous worlds failed to have a proper difficulty progression. I actually prefer SMB1 over SMB3 due to the fact that, yes, despite it being less expansive, is still a fun and consistent romp, even if it is more arcade-like in its structure. It does have some cool world ideas, and I think Giant Land is the best world in the game for the variety of levels they were able to pull out for its "Giant" gimmick. Mega Man ZX - Limitless Potential ~ Green Grass Gradation (SNES Remix) Hooded Edge ๐ง 2023-05-28 | I have been meaning to do a song from this soundtrack for A LONG TIME now!! Seriously, when I say Mega Man ZX has one of the best soundtracks in the series, I REALLY MEAN IT!! Just about every song in this game is awesome, just like this theme for the GODDAMN INTRO GRASS STAGE AREA. In other games like Mario, Sonic, and Kirby, it's simple happy grass music, but in Mega Man ZX, IT'S EMOTIONAL AF, BABY!!!Ah, Mega Man ZX. A flawed game, yet an awesome game at the same time. It's my favorite of the Zero / ZX games, even if that involves me having an image of the entire map right beside me while I play this game. It's fun, the Biometal forms are awesome, and the music KICKS ASS!!! Touhou 5 Kaikidan ~ MS - The Doll-Makers Precious Thing ๐ ~ Alice In Wonderland (SNES Remix) Hooded Edge ๐ง 2023-05-20 | You never can have too many theme songs (said Alice Margatroid). Alice In Wonderland is another one of my favorite tracks in the series (for one of my favorite characters. I think Alice is very cool!!!).Touhou 5's soundtrack is nothing less than fantastic and one of the series quintessential soundtracks. It really does feel like the true precursor to the series ultimate game, Touhou 6 Koumakyou ~ EoSD. It's also one of the few Touhou games I actually was able to 1cc.
