In this special look-back episode of The Jay Young Show, my co-host Jordan Soto and I revisit our conversation with Richard S. De Witt, a remarkable leader whose life has been shaped by business success, military service, faith, family, and resilience.

For more than 30 years, Richard led Jack Frost De Witt Food Brokers, Inc., while also serving as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, where he commanded more than 1,100 personnel. Alongside his business and military careers, Richard and his wife, Marvel, faced profound personal loss. Through life’s most difficult seasons, their faith and commitment to serving others remained at the center of their lives.

After selling his business, Richard followed a calling into full-time ministry and eventually became Executive President and COO of Marketplace Ministries, helping lead thousands of chaplains serving workplaces across multiple countries. In this conversation, we discuss his approach to leadership, the role faith has played throughout his life, and his commitment to making a lasting impact through service to others.

Plus, we’re bringing you a new edition of Jay’s Weekly Five. This week’s Word of the Week is “Jolene,” followed by a special collection of picks celebrating the music, legacy, and influence of the great Dolly Parton.

Revisit an inspiring conversation about leadership, perseverance, faith, and a life dedicated to serving others, then stick around for Jay’s Weekly Five.
