The Diminished Dominant Harmony is created from the auxiliary diminished scale.The auxiliary diminished scale is a diminished scale that starts with a half step. It is an 8 note symmetrical scale that alternates half step/whole step and will start on the root of the dominant chord. It creates a Dominant 7th chord ( R, 3, 5, b7) with the extensions of b9,#9,#11, 13
A diminished dominant voicing can have any combination of the extensions b9,#9,#11, 13, but the combination of b9 & 13 are the colors that are most often present in voicings expressing this harmony.
