Wagner Leitmotifs | 24 Love : Tannhäuser @wagnerleitmotifs7654 | Uploaded July 2014 | Updated October 2024, 7 hours ago.
This leitmotif is first heard act 2 scene 2.

This motif signifies the love between Elizabeth and Tannhäuser as it blossoms when they reunite. The turn on the minim/dotted rhythm represents a spark of tenderness between then, and is a feature of much of the music of their duets throughout the opera.
