Finally, after months of waiting and hyping, I was able to get this game. Technical worries abound, but heres when I actually managed to get recording. This may turn into a big series. I mean, Im certainly going to be playing this game a lot; its just, how much of it will get recorded and go up.
This first part, were training against the AI was other beginners, first Medium, and then Hard. I dont think they quite know what to do with Mei...

Its not like were losing every battle, were at the very least holding our own with our new cruiser designs and weapon systems. But the problem is, in a 3v2 battle on two fronts, holding our own translates to slower losing.
Given the back and forth nature of SOTS, one could probably cruise for quite a while at Losing before youve Lost, which doesnt sound like my bag at all.
Well continue to fight until the situation is clear, and hey, you never know. I set this stuff to be difficult for a reason.")

As if the space defenses werent tough enough, now we need to dig the bastards out. Unlike on a lot of the early worlds, theyre dug in, with a standing garrison force as well as built-up ground army of mid-tier units. And a few surprises along the way.
Lots of casualties in our future, but hey. We wouldnt be the Empire if we cared about things like that. No price is too high to restore order and security to this chaotic galaxy.

I think when you get to the point in a game where you can casually decide to exterminate and then settle the enemys capital planet, youre doing pretty good. Now were fully into the Dreadnought age, and moving at speeds even our human allies can only envy.
Im going to feed them a lot of worlds to keep them invested in this war, lord knows theres enough to go around. Plenty to chew on once you get past the tough carapices.
