w2aew | #213: Drake 2B final repairs, quick bench test, and "on-air" listening @w2aew | Uploaded September 2015 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
This video documents the final "obvious" repairs (more recapping, bad resistor, broken terminal strip) to the hamfest special Drake 2B receiver. A quick bench test of each band is shown, then the rig is brought up to the hamshack to listen to some signals live.
The rig works quite well, and seems as sensitive as my modern rigs. It could likely use a touch-up on the alignment, which may be a topic for a future video.
A couple of thanks are in order here. I want to thank my friend Bob KC2RDU, also known as RadioWild on YouTube - he helped me test out the tubes and hooked me up with the replacements I needed:

Many thanks to Dino Papas KL0S for pointing me in the right direction for info and documentation. He linked me up with K4OAH for some great Drake service documentation:

as well as Hayseed Hamfest for the replacement electrolytic caps:

I also was lucky to find the 6-screw terminal strip at Electronics Plus in San Rafael, CA:
