At just 21 years old, Devin Castleman of Long Lane, Missouri, is only a few months into his trucking career—but he's already behind the wheel of an impressive 2026 Kenworth W900.
Chris caught up with Devin at the 2026 Laid Back on I-55 Truck Show in Perryville, Missouri, where he shared how growing up around a family sale barn and riding with his grandfather planted the seed for a career in trucking. After earning his CDL in March, Devin traded his previous job as a union paving operator for the open road and hasn't looked back.
The W900, owned by Justin Croff, features British Racing Green accents, custom pinstriping, front Air Ride and interior work completed by "Built By Wolf" in California. Underneath, it's equipped with a Cummins X15, 18-speed transmission, 3.36 rears and a 291-inch wheelbase.
And this isn't just a show truck. With more than 38,000 miles already on it, it's been put to work hauling cattle, horses and live chickens, with grain hauling next on the schedule. Devin has even already made the run to California as part of a team-driving trip.
What makes Devin's story especially interesting is how quickly things came together. He earned his CDL, asked Justin if he needed a driver, and soon found himself with a full-time trucking job. His advice to other young people thinking about trucking is simple: take the shot.
