On a cold, November afternoon in 1996, twenty-nine year old Richard Bendele left his mother's home to do a little hunting where his recently deceased father used to take him. Hours later, Richard called his mother in a panic. He couldn't get his truck started and due to the darkness, he couldn't give specific directions to where he was. Planning to mark the road, to make finding him easier, Richard said he would call back, but he never did.
The next morning, investigators discovered his truck abandoned miles north of where they'd thought he had been. The scene itself was bizarre; a window was smashed out, the battery was broken and tilted upside down and Richard had left everything behind: his phone, his gun and his coat.
As massive searches were launched over the course of the next week, the discovery of several items belonging to Richard began making investigators wonder if, perhaps, Richard wasn't lost at all but actually the victim of a sinister trap.

Kurt Cobain died on April 5th, 1994. His body was found in the greenhouse above his garage on the morning of April 8th. The Seattle Police Department and King County Medical Examiners Office ruled Kurts death a suicide inside of 24 hours. Before evidence was processed, before toxicology came in.. before they even investigated.
For twenty-six years there has been a harsh debate: Did Kurt Cobain commit suicide or was it murder? In this episode, we bypass that question and instead ask something that we might actually be able to get an answer to... did the Seattle Police Department thoroughly and unbiasedly investigate the death of Kurt Cobain or did they leap to the conclusion of suicide, to which theyve stuck to this very day?
We will take a thorough look at the evidence, hear from experts and hear from Kurt himself in our search for the answer.

When twenty-nine year old Loy Evitts failed to return to her Kansas City, MO office job after taking a late lunch, her co-workers were concerned. When they found her car, parked in its assigned spot, but could find no trace of the woman, that concern transformed into worry. They quickly called her home and spoke to her husband, Don, who immediately knew something had to be wrong.
The next day, Kansas City Police kicked off a massive search for Loy. They interviewed co-workers and friends, they went around town and established a timeline which showed everywhere and everything the woman had done. But they couldnt fill in a small window of time, five to ten minutes, and its believed that is when she vanished.
When an anonymous caller claimed responsibility for the crime, police quickly located and questioned him but they could never confirm whether he had knowledge of the crime or was just a sick prank caller. Forty-seven years later, Loy has never been found and her abductor has never been identified. To date, her disappearance is the longest unsolved missing persons investigation in the history of Kansas City.
