Mercedes-Benz is expanding its Kecskemét plant in Hungary and starting production of the new electric C-Class.

Mercedes-Benz is doubling the floor space of its plant in Kecskemét, Hungary, making it one of the largest production sites in its global production network
Currently with more than 5,000 skilled employees, the site is the region’s largest employer
As part of the Mercedes-Benz Business Plan 2022–2026, Mercedes-Benz has invested around one billion euros in the site – with a clear focus on digitalisation, flexibility and increased efficiency
With the successful ramp-up of the new electric Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the first all-electric core model is rolling off the production line in Kecskemét
Flexible production axes linking with other German plants will be implemented – such as for the electric GLC
The upcoming more compact version of the G-Class will be produced exclusively in Kecskemét
