Today we present the art created by Dominic Harman for The Sands of Mars by Robert E. Hampson.
Dominic Harman has been illustrating professionally in the field of fantasy, science fiction, and horror book covers for more than 25 years. His first professional sale was to the British science fiction magazine, Interzone in 1997. He landed his first major book cover deal in 2001. He's won the British Science Fiction Award for best artwork three times, as well as the Asimov’s Science Fiction Award for Best Artist amongst many, many others.
The Sands of Mars by Robert E. Hampson
Colonel Shepard—Earth’s first bionic augmentee and the man who once crossed interplanetary space to pull off an impossible rescue —finally reaches Mars. His new command sits under the Eumenides Dorsum ridge on Amazonis Planitia, a city hewn into caverns where life is math and margin: closed-loop ecosystems, strictly rationed propellant, and minutes-long lightspeed comms lag.
While Shepard grapples with distance from his wife and newborn daughter on Earth, whispers of sabotage, industrial espionage, and anti-bionics prejudice begin to erode trust inside the base.
