Emotional Varfolomeev triumphs in a terrific Rhythmic World All-Around final.
The standard of the entire field of 18 was one of the highest ever seen. Split into two groups according to qualification ranking, any of the gymnasts, including the lower qualifiers, had podium chances. Indeed, of the top 10, four had competed in the earlier group.
What's more, the 30 point score barrier was broken by no less than six gymnasts, and there were very few mistakes throughout the final, attesting to the high standard achieved by gymnasts from around the world.
