Say hello to Road & Track’s 2026 Performance Car of the Year.
The Corvette ZR1 is big, loud, and sometimes scary—qualities it shares with the best of its predecessors. But it also takes the Corvette dynasty to a whole new plane of awesomeness, one that prompts the tantalizing question of whether Chevrolet will ever be able to raise the bar further. It remains to be seen whether the forthcoming all-wheel-drive hybrid version, the ZR1X, will have the same borderline crazy impact. But for now, this is more than plenty. The ZR1 was, by acclimation, the most thrilling car at PCOTY 2026. Which is why it’s our winner.
