the 2026 Nissan Armada NISMO is officially making its debut with clear differences from the Patrol NISMO and some surprising choices under the hood.
The 2026 Armada NISMO is powered by Nissan’s new VR35DDTT 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6, tuned to produce 460 horsepower. That’s just 10 hp more than the 2025 Infiniti QX80, which shares the same platform and engine. In contrast, the Middle Eastern Patrol NISMO version of this SUV uses the same engine but has been tuned to push out a stronger 495 horsepower, highlighting a missed opportunity in the U.S. market to make the Armada NISMO stand out more aggressively.
Even so, the 2026 Armada NISMO isn’t just about engine power. It includes performance upgrades like reworked electric power steering, adaptive electronic air suspension, forged NISMO wheels, and high-performance tires. The exhaust has also been modified to be louder and less restrictive, complemented by Active Sound Enhancement inside the cabin for a sportier driving experience.
Visually, the NISMO treatment gives the Armada a bold look. There's a more aggressive front fascia with a flowing grille and bumper design, winged side sills, a red-accented diffuser, crimson brake calipers, and glossy black trim all around. The Stealth Gray paint is exclusive to this model, along with a few other finishes like Black Diamond Pearl, Everest White Pearl Tricoat, and two-tone combos with a Super Black roof.
Inside, the SUV features red-accented quilted leather seats, aluminum pedals, multicolor ambient lighting, and second-row captain’s chairs.
In terms of trim placement, the Armada NISMO is positioned between the Pro-4X and the Platinum Reserve grades. With the 2025 Platinum Reserve priced at $77,000, the NISMO is expected to start around $75,000 when it hits dealerships later this fall, although tariffs could push prices higher.
While it may not match the full 495 hp of its global twin, the Armada NISMO still brings a solid blend of performance, luxury, and visual presence — making it a compelling new chapter in Nissan’s expansion of the NISMO brand into the SUV space.
