Recent editions of the National Electrical Code® (NEC®) have introduced significant updates to the requirements for installing receptacle outlets on kitchen islands and peninsulas. While the 2026 NEC changes to Section 210.52(C) may not be as substantial as the transition from the 2020 to 2023 NEC, they are equally important for enhancing safety and ensuring more consistent enforcement.
