The first real Mercedes sparks flew in the Canadian GP Sprint race when Kimi Antonelli attempted to pass George Russell for the lead on the outside of Turn 1. Kimi eventually finished P3, behind George and McLaren-Mercedes' Lando Norris - but not before he had suggested, on air, that George be penalised. Sir Lewis Hamilton was heading for a strong P4 for Ferrari but in the closing laps was passed by both McLaren's Oscar Piastri and his team-mate, Charles Leclerc. Max Verstappen finished a lonely P7 in the Red Bull-RBPT-Ford. Peter in this video highlights the clash between the two Merc drivers.
