2026 Black Bear Rally FULL EVENT HIGHLIGHTS | OPRC Round 3 REVIEW - Maple Leaf Rally Club
The 2026 Black Bear Rally delivered unpredictable weather, demanding gravel stages and a dramatic fight for victory in the forests of Ontario.
Organized by the Maple Leaf Rally Club, the event formed Round 3 of the 2026 Ontario Performance Rally Championship and Round 4 of the Eastern Canadian Rally Championship. Sixteen crews took the start, facing 76 kilometres of competition across the Quarry Road and Loom Lake stages.
A sudden storm transformed the opening stage. Heavy rain, standing water, slippery mud and fogged windshields immediately tested every crew. As conditions gradually improved, the pace increased—and so did the drama.
Michael Dimkovski and Simon Levac entered the final stage 4.4 seconds behind Samuel Joyal and Marie-France Desmarais-Trépanier. Dimkovski responded with a decisive final-stage attack, improving his earlier time by 15 seconds and securing victory by just 2.5 seconds.
Jonathan Drake and Ian Lantz completed the overall podium, earning Drake his fifth consecutive OPRC podium finish.
