The white coat is a symbol of integrity, professionalism, trust and hope for the future. It’s simultaneously a new beginning and the culmination of years of hard work. At the 2025 White Coat Ceremony on October 3, 123 first-year WashU Medicine students received their white coat and took that symbolic
first step toward officially becoming physicians committed to the health of each of their patients.
