Sponsored by Raytheon, an RTX business, the 2025 southern Autonomous Vehicle Competition was held at Maverick Stadium at the University of Texas Arlington. Student Engineering Teams from 10 universities participated in a two-semester project to design, develop, integrate, and compete two autonomous vehicles that could identify, communicate, and deliver a medical kit with the best accuracy and time. The winner of this year’s competition was the team from the University of Texas Dallas, mentored by Principal Engineer Marta Tatu. Students competed from the following universities: University of Texas, University of Texas at Arlington, University of Texas at Dallas, University of Texas at El Paso, Texas A&M University, Prairie View A&M University, Southern Methodist University, Jackson State University, Alabama A&M University, and Ole Miss.
