I've spent the last 7 or 8 years camping almost primarily in rooftop tents. At this point I've slept in dozens of different RTTs and gotten hands on with dozens more. I've advised companies on production, beta tested tents, and given feedback on more tents to more companies that I was able to keep track of. All that to say, I have a decent understanding of what makes a good rooftop tent. It's not all black and white though - because there will never be a "best" roof top tent either. There are so many variables that will work better for certain individuals or families, certain camping styles, certain vehicle configurations, and certain budgets. This year I'm planning to tackle reviewing as many RTTs as possible though, so stay tuned!
