It’s a pioneer of the style of barbecue that sprung originally from the city’s South Side: juicy rib tips and charred hot links suffused with hickory smoke (via a classically Chicagoan aquarium smoker). Seventy-plus years after it first fired up, the smokestack at Lem’s is still letting the neighborhood know to get ready for some darn good meat. That’s why we’re honoring it with a 2025 America’s Classics Award presented by Heinz.
