In a a brief time on a sunny day, I was able to get back out the the Huntsville, Alabama Railroad Depot Museum, which is now permanently closed, though the grounds are still open for exploring. Sadly, the museum buildings, parts of the nearby garage, many of the rolling stock, were in rough shape. During my visit, however, there was a church luncheon happening. The kind folks were very welcoming to a complete stranger, even sharing their food and drink. I sat with them, enjoyed some wonderful ribs and had a lovely conversation. The amount of warmth and love surrounding these people was on par with that at Ave Maria Grotto. This time with them was truly a beautiful gift I will always treasure.
A very special shout out and thank you to Adrian at Strain's Snaggletooth Ribs and his sister. And much love and respect to their church in Decatur, which I can't remember the name. You all brought much joy this day.
