During his tenure at Milwaukee Country Day School, Harry Leadingham Jr. MCDS'62 accumulated 10 varsity letters in football, basketball, and track and field. Leadingham was known for his speed, and ran varsity track beginning in 8th grade. He competed in 10 or more different track and field events, a tremendous accomplishment for any athlete. He excelled in football, where he was a primary receiver in Ken Laird’s passing game. He earned Midwest Prep All-Conference honors his sophomore, junior, and senior years, and was named “honorable mention” for the all-state football team in 1961. As a senior, Leadingham was honored by UNICO National as one of four metropolitan Milwaukee top prep stars of the year for combining excellence in sports with high scholastic standing and student leadership.
