somberhoney books | 2024 Somberhoney Writing Challenge | vedid day 24 @somberhoney | Uploaded December 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
We've got something new for next year, and that's a monthly writing challenge!
January - write something in an unused notebook to break it in
February - write a description of your typical writing environment, or ideal writing environment if you don’t have a typical
March - write a scene from the POV of a non-human/non-humanoid character
April - write a poem based on a book you love (shout out to Violet)
May - swap writing prompts with a friend and then actually do the writing prompt
June - pick a piece of art and write journal about it
July - brainstorm what kind of story you think would have the same title as your favorite song/the song that comes up when you put a playlist on shuffle
August - write something from the second person POV
September - write a piece of reflective writing (fiction or nonfiction - letter to your past self, journaling about something that happened, etc.)
October - take a scene you’ve written and rewrite it from a different POV
November - write one sentence every day (doesn’t have to be a good sentence, doesn’t have to all be for the same project, could be as simple as describing what you had for breakfast as long as you write it down somewhere)
December - return to one of the things you wrote for an earlier prompt and either edit it or share it with someone (or both if you wanna edit before sharing)
