Each year, local classical and jazz station WRTI 90.1, Jacobs Music Company, and J.W. Pepper partner with the PYO Music Institute to present the Ovation Award to recognize music teachers nationwide “for inspiration and outstanding leadership in music education.” Current and former music students of all ages and backgrounds nominate teachers by writing an essay entitled “How Has Your Music Teacher Changed Your Life?”
