James Dahlberg, an emeritus professor of biomolecular chemistry at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, was instrumental in research that focuses on the biology of RNA.He was one of the founders of Third Wave Technologies, and their science identified an enzyme that could detect genetic mutations in humans. He was on the board of the Morgridge Institute for Research from 2009 to 2014 and served briefly as interim CEO.He was elected to the United States National Academy of Sciences in 1996.
