This animation explains how the TCK Evolution product lines are made at the Bourg en Bresse facility for Renault Trucks.
In 1906, Renault started producing specific commercial vehicles. Renault, however, ceased making trucks and buses under its own brand in 1956. Instead, the company Saviem was established as a division of their own industrial goods with the producers Somua and Latil. However, lighter advertising continued to use the Renault brand. Beginning in 1957, Saviem was also used as the company's brand name for its trucks and buses.
French industrial strategy led to the 1975 acquisition of Berliet, a maker of trucks and buses, by state-owned Renault from Citroen (at that time a part of the Michelin corporation). Renault Véhicules Industriels was created in 1978 by the merger of Berliet and Saviem. Once more, the previous brand names were kept in use for an additional two years while the model lines were gradually merged, until in 1980 the name Renault took their place.
