Back when the 2015 Yamaha R1 redesign was announced as well as when I sold my 2009 R1 a few years ago, I said that my plan was to get a new R1 when they did the mid-cycle refresh. But after 5 years, Yamaha still hadn't announced a refresh. Were they just going to skip it and do a redesign eventually? Well, we just got our answer as the 2020 Yamaha R1 and R1M were announced. Here are my first impressions of these bikes! Can't wait to get on one and do a first ride and review!
