Over the past six Galas, attendees have come together to ensure that St. Joe’s has the critical equipment required to take care of our community.

Each year, our Hospital’s Special Care Nursery cares for 600 babies who are born premature or with health concerns. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the 15-bed Special Care Nursery has been operating at over 100% capacity, and at present, we don’t have enough infant vital sign monitors for every baby in our care.

From heart rates, to oxygen levels and more, these monitors provide the data our care team needs to keep these babies safe and healthy. Right now, our nurses rotate the monitors, cleaning them thoroughly
between each use, to protect the health of these vulnerable infants. But through this year’s gala equipment auction, we’re hoping to raise $150,000 to purchase 6 new vital sign monitors–that way, every baby we
care for can have their own. Because monitoring the vital signs of our tiniest patients is just that, vital.
