2015 - This was only a test - Having the blower beneath the fire caused way to many live embers to be blown out the top without restricting the airflow.
Shortly after the video, I rebuilt the back wall of the burn pit, and installed the blower behind the pit. The air inlet enters the burn chamber slightly below the bottom of the door, and angles upward. When the door is closed fully, it creates a vortex in the burn chamber. Some live embers are still blown out the top, but mostly ash. I did have a metal screen covering the top, but it melted...
