Big Mountain skier Griffin Post shows off the 2016 KASTLE "TX" Alpine Touring line in this video ski review on SkiGearTV. These skis are ideally suited for "ski mountaineering" as well as well as "Alpine skiing" and of course "ski touring".
The 2016 KASTLE TX Line is, according to Kastle, "a backcountry dream: lightweight without compromising performance. Backcountry skiers will enjoy the way up, as much as they enjoy the way down."
2016 KÄSTLE TX77 SPECS:
Length Weight Radius
157 cm 1240 g/ski 14,5 m
167 cm 1290 g/ski 16,5 m
Tip 115 mm
Waist 77 mm
Tail 102 mm
WAIST 77 MM:
Outstanding handling frontside ski or in the backcountry, this ski has a 16% larger running surface compared to classic skis of similar length,.
SKI GEOMETRY:
The SINGLE RADIUS masters changing conditions and difficult circumstances. The harmonious sidecut enables a smooth and exceptional ride.
WOOD CORE:
"Karuba" is used for the wood core, providing this ski with a very low weight. In order to combine a comfortable longitudinal flex design with high torsional rigidity, the traditional sandwich core concept has been reinforced with a structural element (CAP). This wood core, in combination with fibreglass, allows for the perfect harmonization of vibrations and flexing characteristics. The reinforced housing from various fiberglass sheets acts like a torsional box, equipping the ski with high torsional rigidity. In this context it is essential that the internal quality and structure be built in high-quality sandwich construction.
FEATURES:
To achieve a super light touring ski, both sheets are made of fiberglass plastic (GRP). HOLLOWTECH technology is used in the tip for further reduction in weight.
WEAR PROTECTION:
The upper edge radius in combination with the SANDWICH CAP CONSTRUCTION offers optimal protection against wear and tear.
2016 KÄSTLE TX82 SPECS:

When coupled with EARLY RISE ROCKER, this mid-waisted ski affords amazing float, yet still thrives in firmer conditions. In comparison to a classic ski of similar length, the running surface gains approximately 25 %.
EARLY RISE ROCKER:
2016 KÄSTLE TX82 is constructed with modern Rocker Geometry. This provides easier, more controllable handling and better flotation.
