The Harriet McBryde Johnson Award for Nonfiction Writing was created due to Steve Silberman's donation of award money from recognition for his history book, Neurotribes. In an effort to lift up the voices of autistic writers, he asked that it be used to honor Autistic non-fiction writers/journalists. More about this award can be found in the video.
