(Filmed with a crappy phone) There is a new crack forming along the edge of the cliff at the Santuário de Nossa Senhora da Pedra Mua, near Cape Espichel. This crack is brand new and was not there this summer.
I'm not sure how much longer this block will hang there before it collapses, but you can hear me taking a guess of maybe 10 years or so. I know of a more precarious block of similar dimensions on the Lagosteiros cliff (also nearby) which has had its crack eroding away for approximately 10 years or so now, so one can ever be quite sure exactly how long these things take to completely collapse, too many unknowns involved.
Nonetheless, this particular location is frequently visited by tourists since it is part of the sanctuary, and a fence or a guard rail, something, should be installed to isolate and prevent further stepping upon the hanging block. It still looks safe, but no one can be really sure when it will collapse.
