This video demonstrates how to replace and upgrade the oil filter housing and cooler, thermostat, spark plugs, and radiator hoses on the 2011-2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee equipped with the 3.6L Pentastar engine. This is a major weak point on the 3.6L overtime the heating and cooling of the plastic filter housing will cause the gaskets to start leaking. Another issue is sometimes lube shops will over tighten the oil filter causing the plastic housing to crack. Ive also seen the cooler fail internally causing oil to mix in the coolant. This procedure will also work on the Dodge Charger, Challenger, Journey, Chrysler 300, Pacifica, Jeep Wrangler, and Gladiator, The upgraded all aluminum housing will not have as many problems as the plastic housing.
