Released in 2008, the Kawasaki KFX450R is a capable winner on the Motocross tack with the right setup but is perhaps the best 450 for the trail.. Its as smooth running as any 400 off the bottom with more power and revability than the 400cc class machines posses. 1st gear is low enough for crawling alone and gear ratios are well spaced. Plus it has reverse. Its somewhat twitchy yet agile front end changes direction quickly and accurately with razor sharp precision. Suspension is on the soft size while offering decant bottoming resistance. Its not the perfect 450 but its perfect for some and responds well to modifications.
