The 2007 Atlantic hurricane season produced the predicted number of named storms, but the combined number, duration and intensity of the hurricanes did not meet expectations. This animation shows the tracks of all named storms of the 2007 season; Predicted wind patterns; and the Stronger-than-predicted winds over the Caribbean and western tropical Atlantic that led to stronger wind shear-- limiting storm formation, duration, and intensity.

*Note, this animation was created before Tropical Storm Olga emerged in December.
