I’ve owned this Grasshopper 721D front mount diesel mower for years, and even though it’s now 25 years old, I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.
In this video, I walk through why I think a used front mount Grasshopper diesel mower can be a better buy than a brand-new big box store mower — especially if you have acreage, ponds, slopes, trees, ditches, fence rows, landscaping beds, or any kind of property that requires more than just cutting a flat suburban yard.
This old Grasshopper 721D has a Kubota 3-cylinder diesel, a 61-inch front mount deck, serious low-end torque, easy deck access, great visibility, and the kind of serviceability that makes older commercial mowers so valuable.
