This defunct, early 20th Century power plant in is on the Mississippi riverfront in New Orleans, Louisiana. A Times-Picayune article called it “the largest electrical generating plant in the South” when it opened in 1905. This graffiti-covered, abandoned site is a setting for several films and TV shows, including “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” “Oblivion,” and “NCIS: New Orleans.” It was constructed in 1905 and last produced power in 1973.

Better known as the Tru Tone Bar to NCIS: New Orleans fanatics, the R Bar is a local hangout located inside of the Royal Street Inn. Spend a night out in NOLA.
