We spend 2 nights in a restored 1912 Pullman railway carriage at The Old Railway Station in Petworth, West Sussex, and reveal exactly what it cost us – and whether it was worth it.

In this travel vlog, we use AI to help choose an unusual birthday treat for Carol, sleep in the historic carriage “Alicante”, enjoy afternoon tea in the old waiting room, walk at Petworth House and Park, and dress up for a special dinner in Pullman restaurant car “Princess Ena”.

You’ll see inside the cosy but narrow sleeping carriage, hear the rain on the roof at night (very like being in the van), join us for cream tea, full English breakfast and a classic Beef Wellington, and come along for a sunny walk with deer, views over the South Downs and a muddy tumble.

At the end of the video we break down what we paid for the room, food and extras so you can decide if a stay in a vintage train hotel near Petworth is good value for your own UK short break.
