2 Metairie Academy students selected for National Math Stars program @WDSU

Two third graders from Metairie Academy for Advanced Studies have been selected for the 2026 National Math Stars cohort. Henry Liang earned the Pathfinder Star, while Katherine Jiang earned the Voyager Star. They are among just over 600 students from across the country selected for the program. Students were chosen through a multistep evaluation of their math skills and interest in exploring science, technology, engineering and math, known as STEM. Over the next 10 years, through high school graduation, Henry and Katherine will receive mentorship, funding for advanced math courses, STEM enrichment materials and invitations to math competitions and summer camps.
