In the 90s the term Cypherpunk became commonly used to describe a movement of coders who wanted to change the world via privacy-tools like encryption. They fought against the US government's war on encryption and won, and their legacy continues today as many of the most powerful tools we use for protecting privacy today were built by some of these early cypherpunks.
I chat to 2 OG and legendary cypherpunks, Zooko Wilcox and Michael Tiffany, about the early cypherpunk years, how times have changed, and which battles remain the same today.
