How can you use the Excel FILTER function with two criteria in different columns? I made a short video about this some time ago: youtube.com/shorts/O20bjXIXQKI - The video today gives you a more detailed explanation as well as more examples on how to use the FILTER function to tackle different data challenges.
The FILTER function in Microsoft Excel allows you to filter a range of data based on criteria. This criteria applies to a single column. But what if you need to use the Excel Filter function and apply a condition that applies to multiple columns? You might need to include two or more columns. You might need to account for AND conditions - i.e. the criteria applies to each column, or you might need an OR condition: the criteria applies to either column. There is a trick you can use with the FILTER function that helps you account for multiple columns easily. Once you learn how Excel calculates the FILTER function in the background, you'll learn how to account for any condition, value or criteria you need. Learning this will make you an Advanced Filter functions specialist :).
I'll also show you the new way of using the FILTER function and returning only the columns you need: Combine FILTER with the CHOOSECOLS function to return only the columns you need.

If you have this feature which is currently free to use in Microsoft 365 Insiders, you will find Python in the Insert tab in the Excel Ribbon. You get a few Python libraries already ready for you to use in Excel. These are the pandas, matplotlib, seaborn, statsmodels and NumPy. You can import other libraries as you need using the import statement - for example import re module for REGEX calculations. How can you use Python in Excel in practical terms? I share a few ideas in the videos. You can use the pandas library and turn your data into a dataframe which you can then use for more complex tasks, like query the data, unpivot the data with python, create charts using matplotlib - make a line, area or even small multiples. You can grab URLs from long text by using the regex library. You can also use python together with Power Query. We'll only scratch the surface and even that is pretty awesome.

#onenoteEasiest Way to Edit Visuals in Power BI - Watch before using the new features (Includes hidden tips)Leila Gharani2023-04-13 | Get the Complete Fast Track to Power BI course: xelplus.com/course/fast-track-to-power-bi
Editing visuals and charts in Power BI just became more Excel-like. So if you're familiar with formatting charts in Excel, you will love this Power BI update!
Microsoft introduced a new way to build and format visuals directly ON the visual. It puts common actions for creating and formatting visuals on the visuals themselves, actions such as adding fields, changing visualization types, and formatting text. Just like you're used to in Excel charts. You can now easily format your bar, column and line charts directly on the canvas. There is an object edit mode. You don't have to keep going to the side panel to make your updates. Double click on your visual to get the blue border and edit the chart as you need. Check out the video and time stamps for more detail.
After-all most people who open Microsoft Power BI for the first time are overwhelmed. They struggle to navigate around the many panes to perform even simple actions. This update will change that.
Note: This feature for contextual on-object interaction with Power BI visuals is currently in preview. You need to turn it on manually in the Options - Preview features.

#windows #fileexplorerAutomatically Move Completed Tasks to an Archive (with Excel Office Scripts & Power Automate)Leila Gharani2023-04-06 | Join 300,000+ professionals in our courses: xelplus.com/courses
Learn how to use the "record actions" button in Excel Automate tab and record an Office Scripts. With Office Scripts we'll create a macro that works on both Excel desktop and Excel online. In this example, I'll show you how to create a script to automatically move rows from one sheet to another sheet every single day.
Many of us have to maintain and update task or to-do lists in Excel. Wouldn't it be nice if tasks marked as "Complete" or "Done" are moved to an Archive automatically at the end of each day. So, next time you open the task tracker only open tasks are shown on your to-do list?
For example, you've created an Excel table to collect all the tasks your team is working on. At the end of the day, you want to move all the "Complete" or "Done" tasks to another Excel table. Instead of doing it yourself every single day, you can fully automate it. I'll show you how to create an Office Script to move rows from one table and append it to the bottom of another table based on a logic. I'll also show you how to let the script run automatically at a scheduled time using Power Automate. We'll set up a flow that runs the script every day. This way you don't need to worry about running the script yourself. Power Automate will run automatically.
With this tutorial you'll get to learn both Office Scripts and get an introduction to Power Automate and how to create a flow from Excel.
