While sifting through some spent compost earlier this year I found some tiny potatoes, not much bigger than the size of a pea, I'd obviously missed while harvesting. They've been in the compost all winter and were quite firm so I decided to stick them in a bucket of compost and manure and see what happens.
This is the result. Miss Sprinkles was very happy :-) And I was quite surprised at how well they grew when you consider they were in exposed spent compost all winter, then just put into a bucket and apart from occasional watering, left to get on with it. A small harvest ... but they were delicious :)
Apologies for the jumpy editing but the neighbours kids kept sticking their heads in!!! :-)
